A Brief History of The Department Of Sanskrit:
Muralidhar Girls’ College, which completed its 75 years in 2015, was established on 8th July, 1940. In 1945, Sanskrit was begun to be taught in I.A and then in B.A. General Course from the session 1948-49. In 1954-55, Sanskrit Honours Course was also started. Since then the family that began its journey in Room no. 10 of area 18x19 sq. ft. has continued along the path shown by our predecessors. Almost everyone can speak in Sanskrit and participates in extra-curricular activities including NCC and NSS. First generation learners and students from rural areas do not face any difficulties here as all students and teachers extend their helping hands under any circumstances and this bond is unbreakable. Even after becoming self-sufficient on completion of college education, everyone stays in touch with one another.
