The College has a Gymnasium. Playground and Sports Centre (with Sports Library) to promote indoor and outdoor sporting activities amongst the students, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff.Muralidhar Girls’ College organises and participates in various Inter College competions.
Mountaineering, Adventure Sports, and Nature Club - the college organises Rock Climbing, Adventure Sports, and Nature Study camps within and outside West Bengal every year, in collaboration with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) - Mr. Manik Banerjee (eminent mountaineer, trainer and Chairman of IMF, East Zone Committee) is In-Charge.
Many of our students have inherited talents and excel in producing original handicrafts. To encourage their creativity and to bring out their entrepreneurial skill, a College fete – Anandamela is held every year. The students put up various stalls, displaying their varied and interesting merchandise and they find willing clientele in the teachers of the college.
Various departments of the college arrange UGC sponsored seminars in which the students play a major organizational role. They also participate in students seminars as part of their co-curricular activities. The students of this college also participate in Youth Parliament Sessions and have won prizes.
Publications, in varied forms and shapes, form an integral part of the intellectual life of the Muralidhar Girls’ College. They are reflective of the budding minds of young scholars and the on-going academic pursuits of the teachers of the College. Annual Sports of the College is a long-standing tradition and it has been eﬀectively fostering a spirit of healthy competition on and sportsmanship. Every year the Annual Sports of the College is organized generating great enthusiasm among the students and is marked by their significant participation. Track-and-Field events, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw, Go-As-You-Like, and various other innovative sports events take place every year.
The College Fest “SPARK” brings to the fore the artistic aspirations of the students and the organizational skill of the Students Union. From generating funds to the detailed management of every aspect of the event, the students, under the leadership of their Union, take on a very active role. The teachers and college administration are undoubtedly supportive, but the credit for the success of SPARK en rely goes to the students.
The Students Union is an elected body. It looks after the interests of the students, ensuring that their demands and grievances are suitably addressed. The Students Union actively organizes all extra-curricular activities of the college, with the help and support of the teachers.
The Annual Social of the College is in many ways a culmination of the year long cultural and extra-curricular activities of the students. They are rewarded not only for their academic performance but also for excelling in Music, Dance, Debate, Extempore Speech and Elocution Competition. Other cultural activities include the Fresher’s Welcome, Teacher’s Day celebration, Students’ Re-union and Staff Re-union.
Though the Alumnae of the college have always been in touch with their alma mater, the Alumnae Association was formally established in 2002 and registered in 2004. The Association organizes a Reunion before the Pujas and paticipates in Anandamela, the Annual Fete.
The interaction between the eminent Alumnae of the college and the present students generate many emotional moment.
